Description
Welcome to Colonial On Tay Motel, we are situated on the main road into Invercargill when travelling from the North.
Comfortable 1 and 2 Bedroom Units, all are gound level with separate bedroom, lounge, kitchenette. Serviced daily.
Continental breakfasts available delivered to your unit.
Visit our Museum/Art Gallery and Information Centre located on Gala Street, the water tower is an amazing historic building and is sometimes open to the public to climb up to the top for an over view of Invercargill, you will be amazed at just how spread out Invercargill is.
The Velodrome is 5min drive from our Motels and is a great facility, this is also where the Southern Steel Netball and Sharks Basketball is held. Splash Palace is a great place to take the kids for a swim, very handy being a 10 minute walk away. The World's Fastest Indian display is at
E Hayes & Sons on Dee Street, there is also a short film on Burt Munro at the Museum.
40 - 45minutes away is Bluff - This is where the Ferry leaves for Stewart Island, end of State Highway 1 Bluff Hill, has an awesome view in all directions. There are Restaurant/Cafes at Stirling Point and the Maritime Museum is also worth a visit. We have more information on Stewart Island at the Office and we are also Booking Agents for Real Journeys Ferry, and Stewart Island Flights,
As you can see there are lots of things to do in Invercargill and I have only mentioned a few to tempt you. It is well worth spending at least 2 nights with us to enjoy all that Southland and its Environs have to offer.
