Description

The Clay Cliffs are natural landforms that consists of sharp pinnacles and ridges separated by steep and narrow ravines. The Cliffs were created out of layers of silt and gravel deposited by ancient glaciers around 20 million years ago. These layers were compressed, then up-lifted by geological activity in the area, then as the high points began to be eroded pinnacles were left behind. The cliffs are on private land and there is an honesty box at the gate where you are asked to pay $5 per car. From the carpark you can walk up to and among the cliffs (10-15 mins one way). Closed in, sturdy footwear is advised. It is accessible to motorbikes, RVs, camper trailers and caravans. No camping or overnight parking allowed.
