This trail is great for backpacking, hiking, and walking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are December through April. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash The Greta Track is located close to Lake hau near Twizel in the Canterbury region. It's a loop walk with nice views along the way. Once you are at the peak of Ben Ohau Range, the views of Lake Ohau and the southern Mackenzie Basin are even more beautiful.
