Description

This is a basic four-bunk hut located in Pureora Forest Park in the Waitomo/Pureora region. It is free to stay. Bookings not required - first come, first served. Facilities include heating, mattresses, non-flush toilets and water from a stream. From Otorohanga follow Otewa Road till you reach Waimahora road, turn on to Owawenga Road to a sign marking the Wildlife Hut. It is a short walk from the road edge to the hut. There are no formed walking tracks in the area but many hunters' tracks.
