Description

This is a Great Walk campsite in the Whanganui area. A large, flat, grassy site beside the river, and a good starting or mid-point stop if undertaking the Whanganui Journey. There are 36 non-powered sites suitable for tents, campervans, motorhomes and caravans. Facilities include a shelter for cooking, non-flush toilets, water (not treated - boil before use) and a boat launch. In the Great Walks season (1 October 2019 30 April 2020): Bookings are required if staying as part of the Whanganui Journey Outside the Great Walks season (1 May 2020 - 30 September 2020): Bookings are not required - first come, first served Fires are not permitted at any time. No dogs.
