This is a standard six-bunk hut located in Aorangi Forest Park in the Wairarapa region. Fees apply. Bookings not required - first come, first served. Facilities include wood burner heating, mattresses, non-flush toilets and water from a stream. Washpool Hut is the nearest hut to the Putangirua Pinnacles. Approximate times from nearest road and hut: Cape Palliser Road via Aorangi Crossing: 45 hr (10 km) Cape Palliser Road via stream bed: 3 hr 30 min (9 km). Permission required from Mr D.L.
