Description

This is a basic campsite in the Hawke's Bay area. Camp in a clearing near Tamaki West River. Day and multi-day walks accessible from here. Bookings not required - first come, first served. There are 10 non-powered/tent sites. Pitch your tent in a clearing near Tamaki West River. The campsite has a woodfire BBQ and picnic shelter. Please note that water supply for the flush toilet can be intermittent. From State Highway 2 south of Dannevirke, turn into Laws Road, right onto Top Grass Road then left onto Tamaki West Road and follow this to the car park. From here, walk 200 m to the campsite. A small creek must be crossed to get to the campsite, which may be impassable after very heavy rain. Fires are not permitted at any time. No dogs.
