Description

This is a standard eight-bunk hut located in Ruahine Forest Park in the Hawke's Bay region. Fees apply. Bookings not required - first come, first served. Facilities include woodburner, non-flush toilets and water (not treated - boil before use). The route to Stanfield Hut starts at Tamaki West Road end. North from Dannevirke, turn onto Ruahine Street and continue on to Umutaoroa Road. Travel for 5.4 km, then turn left into Top Grass Road. Turn right onto Tamaki West Road and follow it to the car park at the road end. Before you go, buy 1 Standard Hut Ticket (blue for adults, yellow for youth) for each night's stay. Put this in the honesty box at the hut. Or buy a Backcountry Hut Pass that gives unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts for a 6 or 12-month period.
