Camp alongside the lake in a large and attractive campsite where trout fishing and water sports are popular. Fees apply. Bookings not required - first come, first served. There are 50 non-powered/tent sites suitable for tents, campervans, motorhomes and caravans. Facilities include boat ramp, jetty, shelter for cooking, non-flush toilets and water (not treated - boil before use). Water supply is not reliable due to intermittent toxic algal blooms in Lake Tarawera (more prevalent over the summer period) - take your own water supply as the lake water may not be drinkable. Fires are not permitted at any time. No dogs.
