Herricks Hut

Description
This is a basic five-bunk hut located in Ruahine Forest Park in the Hawke's Bay region. There are no fees. Bookings not required - first come, first served.
Facilities include woodburner heating, non-flush toilets and water (not treated - boil before use).
Herricks Hut was built in 1960 by the New Zealand Forest Service, and is maintained by volunteers. Situated at 460m altitude, the area is relatively sheltered. Herricks Hut is largely isolated from other tracks and huts in the Ruahine Forest Park.
