Description
This is a basic six-bunk hut located in Tararua Forest Park in the Wairarapa region and is the second oldest hut in the Tararuas. There are no fees. Bookings not required - first come, first served.
Facilities include heating, non-flush toilet and water from a stream.
Cone hut is best accessed from Waiohine Gorge Road end.
Approximate times from nearest roads and huts
Marchant Road end: 5 hr
Waiohine Gorge Road end: 2 hr 30 min
Tutuwai Hut: 1 hr
Totara Flats Hut: 4 hr 30 min
Alpha Hut: 3 hr
Kime Hut via Neill Ridge: 67 hr
