Central Te Hoe Hut

Description
This is a standard 15-bunk hut located in Whirinaki Te Pua-a-Tne Conservation Park in the East Coast region. Standing in a beautiful clearing by the Te Hoe Stream, Central Te Hoe is the most remote hut in the Whirinaki. Popular with hunters and fishermen, this hut can accommodate up to 15 people. Fees apply. Bookings not required - first come, first served.
Facilities include heating and mattresses.
Getting there
4 hrs from Mangakahika Hut
5 hrs from Upper Te Hoe
Before you go, buy 1 Standard Hut Ticket (blue for adults, yellow for youth) for each night's stay. Put this in the honesty box at the hut. Or buy a Backcountry Hut Pass that gives unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts for a 6 or 12-month period.
